Its 1st June……Know what Happened ?

Hi Friends ….we are on the 1st day of June 2017 and most of us are not aware of the facts that happened on 1st June.

History is not created in a day! But, a day can bring many changes in history. Here are the Nineteen historical events that happened this day and changed the future course of the world.

  1. 1842:  Satyendranath Tagore, Bengali officer and litterateur, was born In the year
  2. 1874, East India Company was finally dissolved.
  3. 1904:  Four Language panel was used for Rangoon. This panel had languages namely Burmese, Urdu, Tamil and Chinese.
  4. 1916:  Lokmanya Tilak roared ”Freedom (Swaraj) is my birthright” at Ahmednagar.
  5.  1929:  Nargis, one of the leading actresses of Indian cinema, was born as Fatima Rashid.
  6. 1930: The first Indian luxurious fast train ‘Deccan Queen’ started from Victoria Terminus (CST) to Pune.
  7.  1945:  Tata Fundamental Research Institute was established.
  8. In the year 1955, India’s Untouchability (Offence) Act was implemented.
  9. 1959:  The Chinese occupied Tibet and Dalai Lama fled to India.
  10. 1964:  Nava Paisa, established in 1947, was renamed as ‘Paisa’.
  11. 1972:  Space Commission and Department of Space was set up. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) brought under Department of Space (DOS).
  12. In the year 1980, Cable News Network (CNN) was launched.
  13.  In the year 1984, Operation Blue Star to remove Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers began with CRPF and BSF firing at the Guru Ram Das Langar building in the vicinity of Golden Temple.
  14. 1985:  Indian cricketer, Dinesh Karthik was born.
  15. 1987:  Khwaja Ahmad Abbas, Indian film director and screenwriter, passed away.
  16. 1993:  Premkumar Sharma, MLA of Bhartiya Janata Party, was assassinated.
  17. 1996:  Neelam Sanjiva Reddy, sixth President of India, passed away.
  18. 1997:  Ghulam Rasool Wani, National Conference leader, was kidnapped and shot dead by militants at Kaskot in Doda district, Jammu.
  19. In the year 2001, the infamous Nepalese royal massacre happened inside Narayanhity Royal Palace. This tragic incident left nine members of the royal family dead including King Birendra and Queen Aishwarya.
